The LEVIS project is present at the Transport Research Arena (TRA) Conference 2022 in Lisbon on 14-17 November 2022. TRA 2022 is the largest European Research and Technology event on transport and mobility. Under the motto “Moving together – reimagining mobility worldwide”, TRA 2022 provides a platform for revolutionary developments and innovative strategies while aiming to secure knowledge and experiences in European transport research and innovation. Topics include efficient, safe, carbon-free, inclusive, and sustainable ways of transportation, and an exchange on how to engage citizens, industry, and governments.
LEVIS is an EU Project with the aim to develop lightweight components for electric vehicles using eco-design and circular approaches. For this, LEVIS makes use of multi-material solutions based on fibre-reinforced thermoplastic composites integrated with metal, which will be produced using cost-effective and scalable manufacturing technologies. These technologies can directly contribute to improving vehicle range. The project consortium’s goal is to demonstrate the technical and economic feasibility of producing these components in three real-case demonstrators at a large scale: a suspension arm, a battery box set and a cross-car beam.
LEVIS will participate at TRA 2022 in the framework of Invited Session 9 “Improved EV efficiency, range and environmental impact through innovations in lightweight materials”. The session is organised by the automotive cluster Enlight EVs, consisting of all EU projects that have received funding under call topic LC-GV-06-2020 Advanced light materials and their production processes for automotive applications (LEVIS, ALMA, Fatigue4Light, FLAMINGo, REVOLUTION).
The session takes place on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, from 8:30 am until 10 am at the Lisbon Congress Center. The LEVIS project will be presented by Clara Valero from project partner ITAINNOVA.
