The LEVIS project successfully convened its M30 General Assembly Meeting on September 27th and 28th, 2023, in Bursa, Turkey, hosted by project partners Yeşilova and TOFAŞ.
Throughout the General Assembly, our diverse consortium undertook comprehensive assessments, delving into the project’s overarching progress and meticulously scrutinizing the performance of its real-case demonstrators, encompassing the suspension arm, battery box set, and cross car beam. However, the meeting was not limited to boardroom discussions; attendees were granted the invaluable opportunity to explore Yeşilova’s and TOFAŞ’s facilities. These site visits offered an immersive experience, allowing attendees to gain profound insights into the state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, innovative technologies, and the extensive expertise that Yeşilova and TOFAŞ contribute to the LEVIS project and that goes into developing sustainable electric vehicle components.
On the initial day of the meeting, Yeşilova, a prominent player in industrial aluminum product manufacturing, warmly welcomed the project consortium. In LEVIS, Yeşilova’s pivotal role encompasses designing the battery case, manufacturing aluminum components, assembling, and conducting virtual validation, complemented by physical material characterization tests.
On the second day of the meeting, we had the privilege to be hosted by TOFAŞ, a leading automotive company in Turkey renowned for manufacturing both passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. TOFAŞ’s involvement in LEVIS spans various facets, including part design, virtual verification tests, physical part production, and design verification tests on prototype components.
We extend our gratitude to our hosts Yeşilova and TOFAŞ for their excellent meeting organisation and warm welcome to Bursa and their respective facilities. The meeting was pivotal for the continued progress of the LEVIS project, providing an essential platform for comprehensive project review, updates, and in-depth discussions.
